Possibilities of Natural Pigments (Canada Pavilion × Joshibi University of Art and Design × OCAD University, Canada)
A workshop introducing the “submicron natural pigments” developed by Professor Emeritus HASHIMOTO of Joshibi University of Art and Design will be held as part of an international collaborative project with OCAD University in Canada.
Participants will experience making paints using natural pigments sourced in Canada and painting them onto paper fans. This is a hands-on opportunity to learn about sustainable and environmentally friendly materials for creative expression.

An online session and talk with NAGASAKA Mago, a renowned trash artist active in Ghana, is also planned.
In the finale, a live performance will take place featuring the multicultural KURAGE Band led by NAKAJIMA Sachiko, in collaboration with high school students playing instruments made from waste.

Visualizing Emotions (Workshop by the Awardee of the steAm BAND Learning Concerto Contest: Tomoko Doi, Okayama Sozan High School)
<Workshop by the Awardees of the steAm BAND Learning Concerto Contest>
Have you ever thought, 'I often think about this, but I can't
express it well in words,' or 'I wish I could tell someone how I
feel'? It would be nice to communicate with words and
movements, but they disappear in an instant. You can only
express yourself by combining the words you have, so I thought
it would be nice to communicate in a more personal way.” This
time, I am holding a workshop where everyone can visualise
their feelings and create one big picture together using pens and
paints.

Exhibition and Dialogue on the “Weather-Pain” App / Project Workshop for Designing Future Society for Our Lives (Workshop by the Awardee of the steAm BAND Learning Concerto Contest: Kai Takemasa, Okayama Sozan High School)
<Workshop by the Awardees of the steAm BAND Learning Concerto Contest>
Thoroughly explored the process by which “weather pain” occurs based on previous research and other sources. Cultivating a programming mindset to understand the current state of weather pain, I have developed a system that is tailored to each individual patient. In addition, in order to understand the current state of weather pain, I am also working to use statistics to determine trends in system users. I will obtain statistical data at the Expo, a place where an unspecified number of people come, to make improvements. Discussions are also taken about the application under development while actually touching it on the terminal.

Learn the Illusion Principles, and Challenge to Design Your Original Illusion Objects (Dr. ATSUYOSHI Sugihara, Institute for Advanced Mathematical Sciences, Meiji University)
See and touch “impossible objects,” which change their appearances drastically in a mirror, and learn the principles of illusions for two special types: the “left-right reversal illusion,” in which the object facing toward the right turns to the left in a mirror, and the “translation illusion,” in which the object facing toward the mirror translates into the mirror instead of turning around. Once you understand the principles, you will be able to create your original illusion objects by paper crafting and origami folding. Also, you might learn the power of “seeing”, which is one of the most basic functions to live.

Flower basket making workshop (Sakai City)
Flowers are an indispensable part of Sakai's world-famous tea ceremony culture. Seven Rules set by the grand tea master Sen no Rikyu also say, "Arrange flowers as they are in the field." (This means "to respect life as it is as nature intended it".) A vase is a tool that embodies this teaching, and this time we will be holding a workshop on making flower baskets using bamboo.
After learning basic weaving skills with PP bands, you will weave a flower basket using bamboo, according to your level of improvement.

We will build moving objects (like, for example, small cars) with electric motors which are only driven by small solar panels. We will use simple materials like chop sticks, tape, or wire to create any kind of object. We can let our creativity flow with the power of solar energy.
