Open Factory Monozukuri (manufacturing) Workshop Executive Committee
We deeply explored the question “What is truly human guidance?” and created the Kurage Guide. As an embodiment of STEAM education, we held six months of Monozukuri (manufacturing) workshops. We hope visitors will feel the “human” quality of these nonlinear approaches unique to the Jellyfish Pavilion, and be thrilled!
Six Ancient Kilns Japan Heritage Utilization Council
Using clay from Japan’s six historic kilns (Echizen, Seto, Tokoname, Shigaraki, Tamba, Bizen), we created clay bars (ceramic tiles) to decorate the Pavilion’s water-themed space. Please enjoy the charm of traditional crafts.
Shiga Prefectural Shigaraki High School
Shiga Prefectural Shigaraki High School supplied clay-based bricks and ceramic stools for the Pavilion. We are deeply honored that "Shigaraki ware" which was used historically in iconic works such as the “Black Sun” on the backside of the Tower of the Sun, a symbol of Osaka’s Expo `70, can once again be showcased and passed down on the Expo stage.
